Nu slechts € 17,50 There's a definite schizophrenia surrounding the music created by Little Rock's American Princes, the same sort of indie rock nomad spirit that has made bands like Flaming Lips, Spoon, Arcade Fire, and Super Furry Animals so beloved. On OTHER PEOPLE, the act's third record (and second for Yep Roc), the band sounds about as focused as it's ever likely to get. The result is still flitting and chaotic, but that's fine; the thread that ties together the varied influences from the power-pop-meets-Bowie of ''Watch As They Go'' to the Replacements-cum-Echo of ''Real Love'' may be narrow, but it's enough. The inherent instability that has fueled rock & roll from its first mumbled chords propels this deliriously inconsistent but undeniably important record.
