Nu slechts € 7,99 Named after the Greek mythological paradise that lays beyond the cold North wind, the 1983 release HYPERBOREA showcases Tangerine Dream's continued interest in automation and sampled beats, largely the influence of band member Johannes Schmoelling, who joined the band in 1980. The album is just one of many the band put out during an extremely fertile decade, with their seminal studio albums buttressed by numerous soundtracks. Strongly influenced by the soundtrack to GANDHI, the first track, ''No Man's Land'', features stuttering, North African rhythms, looping vocals, and a synth drum phrase that recalls the opening of Yes's ''Changes''.
