Nu slechts € 11,99 The modus operandi should be familiar by now. Packaging that promises expert analysis and rare video material, and a disc that takes both with a considerable piece of salt. The Roxy Music story is, of course, one of the treasures of the rock & roll era, and abounds with some fabulous performances -- many readily available via the band's own DVD hits packages, or the Total Recall documentary on VHS, but just as many consigned to the archives of whichever TV show shot them. Those latter, sadly, remain locked away -- there's nothing here that even a halfway decent collection will not already possess, and while there's still a thrill to be gleaned from viewing the band's Musikladen, Old Grey Whistle Test and Top of the Pops appearances, the mere snatches of action that weave around the talking heads simply encourage you to turn off the disc, and go watch the full-length performances instead. Keeping the focus tightly to the first four studio albums ensures that the quality of the music under discussion never dips; the ''analysis,'' however, adds nothing to the proceedings, and even the most curious viewer will wind up forwarding through a few of the speakers after a while. But you can't call the package disappointing, because -- if you've watched any of the others in this series -- it's exactly what you'd expect. ~ Dave Thompson
