Their debut album, THE CHAINSAW'S LAW, also abhors pretension, favoring a back-to-basics approach. Songs like ''Hellrider'' fuse skull-cracking rhythmic riffs with arid blues-metal flourishes, not unlike Pantera with a more international flair. The punishing title track is a study in whiplash cables of heavy guitar noise that leave bloody gouges wherever they hit. THE CHAINSAW'S LAW is as tough as old Spanish leather, and has the muscle to wear it.
