The drums are especially punchy, the band's famous dueling harmony guitars are smooth and articulate, and the anthemic soft rock choruses are sung with the precision one might expect from an outfit with 30-plus years of road experience. A spontaneous feel exists on Lost Cause in Paradise that essentially rules out any studio doctoring -- a refreshing effect that more live rock discs would benefit from.
