Alluding to the day's musical giants, the mix conjures up the goth organ ambience of Procol Harum (Bodkin's ''Three Days After Death, Pt. 1''), the Small Faces' mod experimentation (Andwella's Dream's ''Felix''), Hendrix's blues balladry (Candida Pax's ''Reach Out''), and, of course, the Beatles' paisley pop (Gary Walker & the Rain's ''Magazine Woman''). Through the mesmerizing and lo-fi mix of fuzz guitar, wobbly vocals, organ trippiness, and all-around garage raving, most tracks here transcend their obvious influences to become something fairly original.
