With the abundance of like-themed sets that surfaced during the early 2000s -- such as the PTG label's Masterpiece, Nighttime Lovers, and Disco Giants series, as well as the two-volume New York Sound comps -- Back Beats digs a little deeper, but not so deep that even the keenest collectors lose interest. The highlights here include Rhyze's ''Just How Sweet Is Your Love,'' Vicky D's ''This Beat Is Mine,'' and Shot's ''Main Thing.''
